Brian Wittman...

While attending art school in Portand, Oregon he became a founding member of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame band “Upepo” a precursor to the “world beat” sounds of the 80’s.  He has since performed with a wide variety of known and unknown musicians, including jazz greats Slim Galliard and John Handy III in the U.S., renowned Turkish classical artists Najati Celik and Timucin Cevikoglu in Istanbul, and the amazing Congolese performer Borrina Mapaka in Paris.

Residing on Maui since 1975, he continues to perform resort gigs and with many local groups in a great variety of styles.  He also has invented a reed musical instrument, the Xaphoon, which he markets throughout the world.

Alana Cini...

On my journey into the deep pacific I spent several years in Australia traveling by mountain bike over 8,900 miles throughout the north, south and central parts of Australia. Settling in Kuranda, North Queensland, I was introduced to the local aboriginal culture and the sound of the didgeridoo. Inspired by my association with the aborigine people and their multidimenstional relationship to the didgeridoo, I fell in love with its vibrational, haromic and musical qualities.

Carlos Garcia...

Carlos has been playing drum kit and a wide variety of ethnic drums for most of his life. Originally from the depths of the Bronx in New York City, he went to Hollywood in search of warmer weather and Rock & Roll stardom. He found the great weather but he also found the ugly realities of the corporate world of the music business.

He's been teaching drums for many years and has played with many independent artists that have taken him all over the U.S., Canada, Europe and Japan.

During all the years in Los Angeles, he found things that are more important than stardom. He found that being an activist for peace, animal rights, GLBT rights, and holistic living through his music more rewarding than anything. www.monkeyswithdrums.com
